Research Overview

Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory." Franklin D. Roosevelt

Overall Objective

To influence policy and practice change

For two decades, FHRI embarked on a continuous process to advocate for the end to human rights abuses in Uganda. To this end, in 1998 FHRI began its Human Rights Research, Monitoring and Documentation Project. The project has evolved into a Research, Advocacy and Lobbying Division with a focus on investigating, monitoring, documenting, reporting, key human rights issues across Uganda with an aim of enhancing the flow of information as well as advocating and lobbying for observance of critical human rights issues.
