On 12th April 2023, Dr. Livingstone Sewanyana, the founding Executive Director of the Foundation
for Human Rights Initiative (FHRI), launched his second book titled ‘Human Rights in Uganda – The
Illusive Promise’. The book is a wide-ranging examination of the state of human rights in Uganda
and provides solutions to comprehensive human rights issues. It underscores the reality and
challenges Uganda has to face in order to become a democratic state and further analyses the
human rights movement in Uganda.
